Toastmasters Youth Leadership
Toastmasters Youth Leadership is our 8-week pathway for teens who are ready to grow into confident communicators and steady leaders. As a Distinguished Toastmaster and District Youth Leadership Chair, our founder brings the proven Toastmasters framework into an engaging, youth-centered environment.
Across eight structured sessions, teens rotate through key leadership roles while learning to plan and deliver organized speeches. They practice everything from crafting strong openings and closings to using body language and vocal variety that keep an audience engaged. Each week builds on the last, so participants see real, measurable improvement over time.
A core part of the program is peer evaluation. Teens learn how to give specific, encouraging feedback and how to receive it without shutting down. This practice strengthens listening skills, empathy, and respect - qualities that matter just as much as speaking ability.
Students also lead meeting segments, manage agendas, and handle impromptu questions. These activities quietly build executive skills: time awareness, responsibility, and the confidence to think on their feet. Shy students discover their voice; outspoken students learn to channel their energy with focus and purpose.
We weave in our "business of self" approach by helping teens connect their speeches to real interests, goals, and values. By the final meeting, each participant delivers a showcase speech that reflects who they are becoming as a leader.
